this is the image i see of myself
each time i do something wrong
and i feel really stupid about it.
this is the image i see of myself.
i have always wanted to paint that image.
or at least draw it.
but this seems like the easiest way to do it.
i see myself, against a white wall.
my face looking up, eyes shut.
a half-inch thick wire of steel,
malleable and almost fluid,
creeps up my neck, then finds its way around it.
strangling, choking me
like a snake or a rope would.
it rapidly goes around my neck,
up to my face,
until it covers all of my head.
i see this every time.
if not this,
i see an arrow, of the same material as the wire,
speeding to hit my left temple,
and out the other.
................................................................................................
took the photo and did the light strokes
inspired the title
(each time i do something wrong, i think, "damn! i burned my meatloaf!" off a text message from Levi, she meant it literally though)
